Submariners Watch

I have decided to try and create a Christopher Ward Trident C60 HM Submarines special edition watch. This page will keep anyone interested in the design ideas and the progress of the watch.

Hi all,

As a serving member of the RN and member of the submarine service I have always had my eye on the Rolex submariner. At £5500 its not going to happen! I have however discovered Christopher ward watches. They make top quality watches at a really affordable price. They are Swiss movements in a English handmade watch. The Reviews on these watches are brilliant. I have also found that they...
do custom designs for the Armed forces! so I have contacted Christopher Ward and enquired about getting a Trident pro automatic HM submarines special made! It just so happens they have already designed one! This page is here to gather interest in order to turn the watch from paper designs to actual watches!
Christopher ward already has a contract with the MOD to produce watches and have already produced several for the fleet air arm and RAF

"Pride Runs Deep" Well Deserved Gill Mckenna Molyneux

It was a beautiful honour to receive The Elizabeth Cross today and I would like to thank those that were here to share this with the children and I and to all those that continue to support us along our difficult journey.

Ian's bravery and sacrifice was recognised with the post humous award of the George Medal. Today our sacrifice and loss was duly recognised with The Elizabeth Cross and that brings great comfort .... and from that we gain great strength to continue looking forwards.

My pride in Ian and his heroic actions onboard HMS Astute will forever remain .... as will my love Xxxx
— with Ian Molyneux.

52.593.4.10.63.1400.129 The Loss of USS Thresher

USS Thresher
In company with Skylark (ASR-20), Thresher put to sea on 10 April 1963 for deep-diving exercises. In addition to her 16 officers and 96 enlisted men, the submarine carried 17 civilian technicians to observe her performance during the deep-diving tests.

Fifteen minutes after reaching her assigned test depth, the submarine communicated with Skylark by underwater telephone, apprizing the submarine rescue ship of difficulties. Garbled transmissions indicated that--far below the surface--things were going wrong. Suddenly, listeners in Skylark heard a noise "like air rushing into an air tank"--then, silence.

Efforts to reestablish contact with Thresher failed, and a search group was formed in an attempt to locate the submarine. Rescue ship Recovery (ASR-43) subsequently recovered bits of debris, including gloves and bits of internal insulation. Photographs taken by bathyscaph Trieste proved that the submarine had broken up, taking all hands on board to their deaths in 5,500 of water, some 220 miles east of Boston. Thresher was officially declared lost in April 1963.
